Log cabins floating on point are just the ticket, no worries about points getting cut off. The log cabins are made larger than needed getting trimmed to their size but not perfectly so that you end up with an off-balanced feel.  You also have two options on your side borders to shake things up a bit.  Rick-rac and Wool flowers with button centers add another fun dimension to this quilt.
